Why you should join eduroam

If you could offer a secure Wi-Fi service for the tertiary education and research community from across the globe and attract business to your premises, why wouldn’t you?

Wi-Fi is expected from all good venues so everybody can get connected to the internet. But, unless the connection is secure, there are many customers and clients that won’t use it.

Without the trusted eduroam Wi-Fi service, you could potentially miss out on the huge educational community for your venue or institution. Your premises or venue may not attract the vast educational cohort that want to link up with remote colleagues and share knowledge while sitting in your coffee lounge or during breaks at your conference facility.

With eduroam, it’s simple; visiting students, staff and researchers use their eduroam ‘home’ credentials to access Wi-Fi services where the eduroam service is available.

What is eduroam Everywhere?

One of HEAnet’s goals is to reduce the digital divide and give every student equal access to the resources they need, and ultimately enable Ireland to reach its digital ambitions. No matter what the circumstance, from geographical location to disability, we want every student to have the opportunity to succeed.

Our ambition is to make eduroam Wi-Fi available as much as possible to students everywhere which is why we started the eduroam Everywhere project.
